Waterfront Fun in New Rochelle

New Rochelle, New York is a family centered town located on the banks of the Long Island Sound outside of New York City. The town is a large city, but it really has a small town feel because it’s built on lots of suburban neighborhoods. One of the things residents love most about New Rochelle is the fact that it’s located right on the water. The New Rochelle waterfront is packed with activities for residents and visitors alike.

One of the best things people like to do on the waterfront is go fishing. You can fish off of the many piers in town, or you can rent a boat for some fishing in the sound. If an entire day of fishing sounds good to you, why not hire a boat to take you out into the sound for some deeper water fishing? You never know what you’ll find!

Some of the popular annual town events are on the waterfront, too. One of the most popular is the Lighted Boat Parade in the summer. Children of all ages line up along the harbor to ooh and aah over the many beautiful boats that are decorated by their owners for the parade.

If you are so inclined, you can also enjoy a New Rochelle yacht club. There are several private clubs in town, and all of them offer great things for their members to do. You can learn about yachting or take sailing lessons. Many of the clubs also have special programs for kids and teens to learn about sailing, yachting, and water safety. Some of the waterfront activities in town are sponsored in part by the private yacht clubs to which many of the town’s residents belong to. The clubs offer some of the best things to do in town.
