New Rochelle is a city in the state of New York, close to the border of Connecticut. The town was first settled by a refugee named Huguenots, a French Protestant. He came to America in year 1688 and since then the city has changed and flourished to become a the hub of culture and art in the state of New York. The city is studded with art and history museums as well as cultural events hosted by people from all over the world. And the art and culture of the city continues to grow as more money is put towards building new libraries, museums, art centers and educational facilities for children interested in history, culture and art.
The Museums of Art and Culture in New Rochelle, New York was recently remodeled and expanded to accommodate larger exhibits, more visitors and cultural events. The mission of this museum is to get the high school kids of New Rochelle interested in the world around them. Which is why the museum is officially the part of the high school itself. Teachers take kids on short field trips to the museum and some even hold a few of their classes within the museum walls, as a more effective teaching method.
To promote art in various forms, the New Rochelle school district curriculum was recently updated to include a larger variety of courses that teach about the cultures around the world as well as the evolution of their art through history. In addition to this, many kids are encouraged to join plays and musicals which are held in the auditorium and hundreds pay money to watch the kids make their own art.
The New Rochelle community is coming together to raise a generation that is appreciative of not only their own culture and art, but that of other's as well.
