The Many Parks of New Rochelle

New Rochelle isn’t known as the Home Town for nothing! It’s full of families who call this beautiful town home, and the town caters to its families for sure. One of the many ways that New Rochelle caters to families is by maintaining several public parks, which are known for their beauty and variety.

Hudson Park is one of the most popular parks in town. It’s on the South End of town, and it offers a grassy area for running, playing, and picnics. There’s also an amphitheater shell that’s used during the summertime to host outdoor music events. Hudson is one of the New Rochelle parks that has a beach attached, although the beach isn’t open year round. On summer weekends, it’s a great place to hang out in the sun and play in the sand.

Flowers Park is one of the New Rochelle parks made for active playing. It’s got playgrounds, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds. If you decide to participate in some of the city-wide leagues, you may end up at this park a whole lot. It’s centrally located for most of the city, so it’s a popular place to hold events and sporting games.

Neptune Park is another great option for residents. It is a seaside park with a couple of fishing piers for those who like to spend a lazy afternoon just trolling for fish. The park also has some grassy areas for picnics and other events, and it’s attached to Sharkey Park, where you can play horseshoes in the specialized facility.

These aren’t the only parks in New Rochelle. In fact, the town has tons more parks for families. Chances are likely that there will at least be a small park in any neighborhood you decide to become a part of.
